Light commercial users will get the chance to analyse a host of the top models in one place in July.
The DRIVEit@ event will be taking place at on 7th-9th July at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground in Leicestershire, and is described as the UK’s first and only dedicated Light Commercial vehicle show.
Organisers of DRIVEit@Bruntingthorpe, which is free to attend, describe it as unique, because it is far from just a static show. The proving ground venue includes more than six miles of test routes where van drivers and fleet managers can sample the latest that the LCV market has to offer.
At least 13 major LCV manufacturers have confirmed representation at the event, including all the biggest-selling names in the UK market – Ford, Vauxhall, Mercedes-Benz, Isuzu, Renault, Peugeot, Citroen and Fiat.
Visitors are promised the opportunity to test all types of LCVs, from small car-derived vans through to 7.5-tonne vehicles.
Test-drive routes available range from simulated town driving to motorway use, rough terrain and even a challenging off-road course for 4×4 vans and pick-ups. All are designed to simulate the kind of use a vehicle may get in regular day-to-day business and help make the decision-making process easier for buyers, whether they’re one-man operators or fleet managers.
Also present will be several other exhibitors offering products across the LCV industry, away from just LCV sales and service.
According to DRIVEit@ event director, Rob James, the show is the only one of its kind in the calendar and is rapidly becoming recognised as an essential day in the diary for light commercial vehicle buyers.
“As well as giving people the opportunity to network, it also allows them to get behind the wheel of various vans and CVs back-to-back and compare them, which is something you can’t do in the showroom or online,” James says.
“If you’re about to spend a significant sum of your company’s money on vans, be it just the one or a whole fleet, it’s great to know you can try them for size first and help along that decision making process, as well as meet the key people you’ll need to know when you do decide to buy. It makes this event essential.”
