Mercedes-Benz is making changes to its Citan van and MPV range, focusing mainly on making the vehicles Euro 6 emissions compliant.

All the MPV Citan Tourer variants – Tourer the new name for the former Traveliner – now meet the Euro 6 standard and van buyers will be offered compliance as an option.

Tourer models are now offered as standard with the BlueEfficiency engine package which includes an Eco stop/start function and improved fuel consumption, diesels offering combined cycle fuel consumption of up to 65.7mpg.

Curiously the Euro 6 compliance increases torque by around 15lbft, which gives a noticeable rise in pulling power of around 10 per cent. Engine power outputs remain at between 74 and 109bhp.

Citan options lists now boast extra items – the ‘Long’ Tourer can be specified with a panoramic roof with tilting skylights. There is also the option of a new navigation system based on a 3.5-inch touchscreen, with DAB+ radio, a new standard expected to be available from the fourth quarter of 2015.

Also new to the list is a reversing camera, the camera image shown on the interior mirror.
