Innovation Automotive has opened its order books today for the battery electric EC35 van, produced by Chinese manufacturer DFSK.
The EC35 goes on sale for £20,999 +VAT on the road, including the Plug-In Van Grant. This makes it one of the lowest priced electric vans on the market. It is covered by a five-year/75,000 mile warranty.
The van is powered from a 39kWh battery pack mounted under the load floor. Innovation Automotive is offering two variants of the vehicle. The first offers a range up to 101 miles on a full charge, with a top speed limited to 62mph.

The second offers a range of up to 166 miles by restricting top speed to 50mph, which would suit many operators working in urban areas. The EC35 can be rapid charged at a public DC rapid charging point, with a re-charge to 80 per cent of the battery capacity possible in one hour.
Payloads of up to 1,015kg can be carried and the EC35 offers a load volume of 4.8m3. Overall the van is 4,500mm long and 1,680mm wide. It will provide a 2,470mm long load floor and maximum internal width of 1,470mm, with height of 1,130mm.
In the cab, the EC35 is equipped with a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system, with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone connectivity. A DAB digital radio and voice control are also standard equipment.

Just last week Innovation Automotive announced Halfords Autocentres as its aftersales partner. EC35 owners will be able to take their van to any of Halfords’ 51 locations across England, Scotland and Wales for repair and maintenance work.
Customers will be able to book into Halfords Autocentres using the company’s online booking platform, or arrange servicing by phone or in person. Halfords Autocentres are open for a minimum of six days per week and selected centres are open on Sundays, helping to minimise service downtime for EC35 owners.
