Japanese manufacturer Nissan has unveiled the NV250 compact van, which will go on sale in the UK in September.
The Nissan NV250 is a replacement for the NV200 and will come with a 1.5-litre diesel engine. It is based on the Renault Kangoo small van, which is also the basis for the Mercedes-Benz Citan.
The panel version will come in two body lengths (L1 / L2) and in two or three-seat configurations while the single-length crew version (L2) comes with a maximum of four seats and multi-positional bulkhead for a versatile cargo space. The L2 panel van can carry a payload of up to 800kg and a cargo length of 2.87m.
In addition, the NV250 comes with Nissan Intelligent Mobility technologies, such as Hill Start Assist and Extended Grip.
It also comes with Nissan’s five-year warranty/100,000-mile warranty as standard, which is a key difference between the NV250 and the mechanically-identical models from Renault and Mercedes.
Paolo D’Ettore, Light Commercial Vehicles Director for Nissan Europe, said: “The new Nissan NV250 is the perfect compact van for small businesses with big aspirations. By enabling customers to choose the version that is just right for them, the NV250 encourages more agile business deliveries and greater leisure freedom.”
Nissan will continue to produce the e-NV200, its zero emissions compact van, which has been upgraded with a 40kWh battery, offering a range of up to 124 miles. It isn’t known if Nissan will offer an electric version of the NV250.
Prices for the Nissan NV250 have yet to be confirmed.
