Vauxhall is extending its popular Vivaro van range into the leisure MPV market with two new versions under the Life name.

The Vauxhall Vivaro Life will be available in either 4.95 (Medium) or 5.3-metre (Large) body lengths, both able to accommodate up to nine occupants.

Due to be unveiled at the Brussels Motor Show on 18 January, both vehicles will be built at Vauxhall’s plant in Luton, the centre of Vivaro production.

Vauxhall is emphasising that each version of the Vivaro Life will be built specifically to customer requirements. For example, it will be available with leather seats on adjustable aluminium rails in either four, seven or eight-seater versions, while with cloth covering the options will be five, six, eight or nine.

The larger model will be available with a luxury trim dubbed Lounge. Front seats will include massage and electric heating functions, two movable chairs behind will each have 48cm wide cushions, occupants able to face each other and make use of a centrally mounted table and 230-volt plug socket for charging mobile devices.

Other options include a panoramic roof and sliding side doors that open electrically  by means of a foot movement. Seats will be removable to allow the carrying of up to 4500 litres of cargo in the Large variant. Both versions also boast a plus one-tonne payload capacity.

A folding front seat will accommodate objects up to 3.5 metres in length, while a larger tailgate compared to rivals will ease loading.

Vauxhall adds that despite their capacity, all versions of the Vivaro Life measure less than 1.9 metres in height, allowing them to access most multi-storey car parks and underground garages at luxury hotels.

Vauxhall plans to open order books for the Vivaro Life in February, while future plans including adding an electrically-powered model to the range.
