Volkswagen Transporter Sportline 01

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is adding a Sportline model at the top of the new Transporter range. Initially only available on the T32 kombi model, it will spread to panel van models early next year.

The Sportline specification is based on the existing Highline model. It is visually defined by larger alloy wheels and chunkier front and rear spoilers. In addition to the two-tone 18-inch alloys, the Sportline also gets lowered suspension, carbon fibre mirror caps and styling bars with integrated puddle lights along the lower sills.

Inside it will feature leather upholstery with branded ‘Sportline’ floor mats and a touchscreen satellite navigation system.

The Sportline range will initially only be available in the the 180hp 2.0-litre turbo diesel passenger model, equipped with Volkswagen’s familiar seven-speed DSG double-clutch automatic transmission. These are available to order now and will be arriving in showrooms shortly. Pricing starts at £36,295 on-road excluding VAT.

Panel van models, as well as other kombi versions, will be available to order before the end of 2016, with deliveries starting in early 2017. This will include the 204hp 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine with either manual or automatic gearbox and a long wheelbase version.

The current Volkswagen T6 Transporter range has not been crash tested by Euro NCAP.
