Volkswagen is adding two new Euro 6 emissions compliant diesel engines to its Caddy van range.
Both are 2.0-litre diesel units with either 74 or 148bhp, and vans using the two engines include VW’s Bluemotion technology which ranges across low rolling resistance tyres, a start/stop system, hill-hold assist and regenerative braking.
The smaller unit is available across the short-wheelbase versions of all three Caddy trim levels, Startline, Trendline and Highline, and the larger on the long-wheelbase Caddy Maxi. Both models also retain the 101bhp 2.0-litre option supplied with the latest Caddy when it launched earlier in 2015.
Both of the new engines replace their Euro 5 equivalents and will be offered at the same price until the end of 2015, the entry-level being the C20 Startline short wheelbase model with the 74bhp unit at £13,500 plus VAT.
Contract hire and Finance lease deals from Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Finance also remain at Euro 5 prices with the short-wheelbase 74bhp model available from £185 a month.
Entry-level Startline versions include electric windows, electrically adjustable wing mirrors, a five-inch touchscreen Composition Colour radio system with DAB+ and Bluetooth capability and a lockable glovebox.
The safety specification includes driver and front passenger front, side and curtain airbags, a new post-collision braking system and a seatbelt reminder.
Trendline models start from £15,670 and add full wheel covers, body-coloured bumpers, door handles and wing mirrors, rear parking sensors, cruise control, a multi-function display, driver’s lumbar support, under-seat storage and sun visors with vanity mirrors.
Range-topping Highline variants, costing from £16,650, gain alloy wheels, front fog lights and daytime running lights, climatic air conditioning, heated front windscreen, automatic dimming rear-view mirror, Thatcham category 1 alarm and windscreen wipers with intermittent control and a rain sensor.
