Ford is rolling out its Mobile Service programme across the nation after a successful trial in the Greater London area. The programme is being launched at the 2017 CV Show.
The Mobile Service programme will see 100 vans with Ford qualified technicians operating from over 90 Ford Transit Centres across the country, including Northern Ireland and Scotland.
The programme is intended to minimise disruption to fleet operators by reducing vehicle downtime, as maintenance and repairs can be carried out on-site.
The specially-liveried Mobile Service vans are 130hp six-speed manual front-wheel drive Ford Transit Customs. Inside, a custom racking system includes different shelves, storage and compartments and houses a 2.5-tonne jack and axle stands.
The vans have a 4G-enabled onboard diagnostic system, meaning that technicians will be able to operate on up to four vehicles per day.
After launching at the CV Show, Ford expects its Mobile Service programme to be operational with all participating dealers by the summer.
