Citroën Berlingo
From large back down to little. The Citroen Berlingo is another nameplate that’s been around for a long time, but such is the longevity of the model that it’s only in its third generation.
At this budget you can pick up a fairly new Berlingo (the just-superceded model that ended production last year), which means a range of super-efficient engines and a car-like driving ambience compared to some of the larger vans.
Maintenance costs for these dinky vans tend to be pretty low, and for those with big families the Multispace passenger models are some of the most practical vehicles on the market in terms of passenger space on a small platform.
You could also look at a Peugeot Partner, as it’s basically the same van with a Peugeot badge instead. One advantage of both brands being owned by French giant PSA Group is that you can take either vehicle to either a Citroën or Peugeot dealer for servicing and most parts.
