Citroën will launch a commercial version of the Ami electric city car, the Ami Cargo Electric during 2022. Like the passenger version, it will be adapted for the UK market, but there will not be a right-hand-drive version.

The tiny Ami Cargo Electric measures just 2.4m long, meaning that it is significantly smaller than the Ford Fiesta Van, which has a length of 3.9m. It is also 1.4m wide and 1.5m tall, so its compact dimensions making it well suited to the last mile deliveries that it is designed for. With top speed limited to 28mph, it will be well suited to city streets.

Matching the passenger version, the Citroën Ami Cargo Electric has a single motor powered by a 5.5kWh battery, giving this compact quadricycle a range of 46 miles.

The conversion to load carrier involves removing the passenger seat and replacing it with a seven-part plastic module capable of providing up to 260 litres of load capacity, with a payload of 140kg. Total load volume is 400 litres.

Ami Cargo Electric is also fitted with a secondary modular shelf unit which can hold up to 40kg. The unit can be converted into a desk when the vehicle is parked. A two-way adjustable floor also opens up additional space to carry larger items.

Pricing, specification, launch and sale information will be available in the run-up to the launch.
