DFSK has announced its return to the UK with a new importer and distributor, Vehicle Import & Distribution Ltd. The organisation has been established by Bassadone Automotive, which is also the owner of the UK importer and distributor of SsangYong vehicles.

DFSK (Dongfeng Sokon) is a subsidiary of the state-owned Chinese manufacturer Dongfeng Motor Corporation, producing light vans and flat-bed trucks.

DFSK has established a UK preparation centre at Portbury Docks near Bristol, while the head office and logistics centre will be based in Luton.

The models that will be available in the UK are the C31 single cab light truck, the C32 double cab light truck, the C35 panel van and the C37 passenger van. All vehicles meet the latest emissions requirements and are powered by 1.5-litre petrol engines.

UK pricing has not yet been announced, but customers can expect good value for money with prices likely to start from less than £10,000. The range will go on sale in the summer.
