Isuzu has announced that a special edition of its D-Max pickup will be available soon – the V-Cross Steel Edition – which the brand says offers “the ultimate blend of reliability, toughness, and style.”
Based on the regular D-Max, which has a 3,500kg towing capacity, a maximum wading depth of of 80 centimetres, shift-on-the-fly four-wheel drive and a full five-star Euro NCAP safety rating, the Steel Edition features a number of exterior design alterations and the longest equipment list in the brand’s ‘Adventure’ range.
The roof rails, wheel arch flares and Isuzu logos come in a dark grey, and ‘Steel’ lettering features in several places including the scuff plates, tailgate and the headrests and footwell mats inside. This lettering is also projected on the ground when opening the pickup’s front doors. Electronically folding mirrors are also included, as is keyless entry.
Also included on the equipment list are LED headlights and automatic windscreen wipers, as well as parking sensors and a reversing camera. A nine-inch infotainment screen compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay features on the dashboard inside, and the pickup also comes with dual-zone climate control and an electrically adjustable driver’s seat with power lumbar support.
The Steel Edition will become available to order during the week commencing 6th May, with pricing beginning at over £38k. Both manual and automatic versions will be available, and like the rest of the D-Max range, the model comes with a five-year or 125,000-mile warranty and five-years of roadside assistance.
Interested buyers will probably have to act quickly though – only 300 examples will be sold in the UK.
