Renault is to launch a traction assistance system dubbed X-Track across its light commercial range.

The system, Renault states, will assist its business customers who operate on more challenging terrains.

Kangoo, Trafic and Master vans will be able to be specified with the X-Track conversions which range across a limited-slip differential, a raised ground clearance, underbody protection and all-weather tyres.

Additionally the Renault Master can now be specified with a 4×4 transmission.  Drivers of Master 4×4 variants will be able to choose between a 4×2 transmission mode for normal roads or a 4×4 mode for poor quality surfaces or for going off road.

Renault adds that the new X-Track versions and Master 4×4 will be available alongside the existing Grip Xtend technology, which is designed to deliver improved grip for occasional use on slippery terrain. Grip Xtend is a standard feature of ICE versions of the Kangoo, and the Trafic and Master PC and LCV ranges.

X-Track models will be available in Europe from later in 2016 whilst the Master 4×4 is set to go on sale in the summer. Renault will confirm UK on-sale dates for the range in the coming months.
