Volkswagen is boosting the eco credentials of its Crafter LCV range with new Euro VI emissions compliant engines.

The diesel units, of 113 or 161bhp, are available on certain models in the Crafter panel van, chassis and double-cab line up.

They comprise models with kerb weights between 2,355 kg and 2,815 kg in medium and long wheelbase formats.

The Crafter hits the strict Euro VI limits with the help of Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) and Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) systems, as well as a built-in Diesel Particulate Filter.

The 113bhp engine can also be specified with Volkswagen’s eco-focused BlueMotion Technology, offering official combined-cycle fuel economy of up to 35.3 mpg and emissions of 210g/km.

Vehicles in panel van form with the new engines cost from £28,935 with the 113bhp unit and £30,550 with the 161bh version.
