Volkswagen is launching a limited-edition version of its Amarok pick-up truck.

Dubbed the most luxurious version of the vehicle to date, the Amarok Ultimate will be available in 500 examples.

Exterior additions include bi-xenon headlights, 19–inch ‘Aragonit’ polished alloy wheels and double chrome strips on the radiator grille. LED daytime running lights without a bespoke night signature are included for the first time in the Amarok range.

Electrically foldable, heated and adjustable door mirrors with extra chrome detailing, darkened tail light lenses and a new LED number plate light complete the package.

Inside, the Amarok Ultimate is fitted as standard with Alcantara-trimmed seats, a leather multi-function steering wheel, heated driver and front passenger seats, satellite navigation, a reversing parking camera, rear privacy glass and Bluetooth connectivity.

Auto variants (the choice is between the six-speed manual selectable or eight-speed auto-permanent 4Motion gearboxes) also get alloy pedal covers.

The Ultimate models are powered by the range-topping 2.0-litre BiTDI diesel engine, with 177bhp maximum torque of 310lbft and a towing capacity of up to 3,200kg.

The Amarok Ultimate is available in two colours, ‘Reflex Silver’ or ‘Deep Black’, both with ‘Ultimate’ decals on the side doors.
