Chinese brand GWM has announced the upcoming launch of its GWM POER300 double-cab pick-up truck.

Scheduled to arrive in UK dealerships from mid-September 2025, the GWM POER300 (pronounced “power”)  will attempt to break into a segment dominated by the likes of the Ford Ranger, Isuzu D-Max and Toyota Hilux.

The POER300 double-cab pick-up will be powered by a 2.4-litre turbo‑diesel engine, delivering 183hp of power and 480 Nm of torque.

It claims to return about 33mpg on a combined cycle and is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission and full-time 4×4 system with low-range capability.

The POER300 has a braked towing capacity of 3.5 tonnes and a payload of one tonne, both of which are considered essential by customers to ensure the vehicle is capable of towing livestock trailers, generators, heavy equipment or a caravan.

Inside, the GWM POER300 features a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This sits alongside a smaller seven-inch digital driver’s display. Wireless Apply CarPlay and Android Auto, along with wireless charging, are standard.

The vehicle offers multiple terrain modes (Normal, Eco, Sport, Snow, Mud, Sand), and an electronically activated rear differential lock for enhanced off-road capability.

The GWM POER300 will have an off-road approach angle of 27 degrees, departure angle of 25 degrees and a 230mm ground clearance.

GWM UK will offer a three-tier trim range of Lux, Ultra and Vanta models. The latter comes with blacked-out exterior trim, wheel arches and black alloy wheels to separate it from lower-level models.

All variants carry a five-year/125,000-mile warranty. Prices will start from £31,495 excluding VAT.
