The Renault Kangoo ZE van has been given a new electric motor and battery pack for 2017, promising to boost range by more than 50 per cent.

According to Renualt, the new powertrain promises to boost the Kangoo ZE range by more than 50 per cent – a dramatic increase on the existing model. The updates are similar to those recently announced for the Renault ZOE hatchback.

According to the NEDC (New European Driving Cycle), the official range jumps from 106 miles to 168 miles, which is the best of any electric small van in the marketplace.

Recognising the limitations of the lab testing system, Renault claims that this translates to a ‘real world’ range of 124 miles.

The new Renault Kangoo ZE will make its official debut at the 2017 European Motor Show in Brussels in January. No other visual or other specification changes have been announced.
