Mitsubishi’s L200 Series 6 pickup is now on sale in the UK, with a host of new design, driving and safety features.

Priced from just £21,515 for the entry-level Mitsubishi L200 4Life Club Cab, the Series 6 has a significantly upgraded 4WD system with a new ‘Off Road Mode’ and a ‘Hill Descent Control’ system and a new Euro 6d compliant 2.3-litre turbo diesel engine and six-speed automatic transmission to deliver lower emissions and improve fuel efficiency.

There are also larger brakes all-round on most of the range, as well as revised suspension for improved ride comfort and handling.

The Mitsubishi L200 Series 6 also has an increased payload of 1,080kg and gross train weight of 6,155kg.

Elsewhere, the exterior has been revised, with a new front-end. The bonnet now sits 4cm higher for more presence and easier manoeuvring, there are LED headlamps and LED DRLs on the majority of the range, and 18-inch alloy wheels are also available on most models.

Inside, the seats and steering wheel have been revised. The instrumentation has also been upgraded and now includes a full-colour LCD display.

There are also a raft of safety features on the new L200, including a Blind Spot Warning system with Lane Change Assist function, Rear Cross Traffic Alert system, Forward Collision Mitigation system, Lane Departure Warning, Active Stability & Traction Control, Hill Start Assist, Emergency Stop Signal function and Trailer Stability Assist.

The Mitsubishi L200 was first launched in 1978 and since then has had more than 4.7 million units built over the five previous generations of it.
