Volkswagen has launched a limited edition version of its latest Caddy van, called the Black Edition.
It is the latest vehicle in the Volkswagen range to get the Black Edition treatment. Externally, this comprises front fog lights, lowered suspension, 17-inch two-tone black and silver alloy wheels, black pearl-effect paint, black roof rails, and colour coding for the bumpers, door mirrors and handles.
Inside, the Caddy Black Edition features full carpeting, air conditioning, heated windscreen and leather covering for the multi-function steering wheel, gearknob and gaiter. It also gets cruise control, DAB digital radio and a driver alert system.
Based on the Caddy Highline specification, the Black Edition adds about £2,000 of extra equipment for only £800.
The Caddy Black Edition is only available with a 2.0-litre TDI engine and five-speed manual transmission. It produces 102hp, and Volkswagen claims 60.1 mpg for the combined cycle and has CO2 emissions of 123 g/km. (You can make your own judgments on the veracity of Volkswagen’s emissions claims…)
500 Caddy Black Edition models will be imported into the UK, priced at £19,370 (on-road excluding VAT).
