Europcar UK has added 170 new Volkswagen Crafter panel vans to its commercial fleet. This continues a long-standing partnership between Europcar and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles.
Europcar’s new Crafters are all powered by the 140 hp 2.0 turbo diesel engine. The rental company’s specialist vehicles director, Stuart Russell, commented how: “The new model is one of the most practical, economical and safest vans currently on the market and was designed from the ground up to appeal to businesses across various industries.”
Michael Cutts, National Rental Manager for Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, added: “We’re delighted for Europcar to be one of the first rental companies in the UK to adopt them onto their fleet in significant numbers. A highly flexible vehicle, designed for the demanding conditions of urban traffic, we believe the Crafter will make an important addition to the fleet.”
Europcar hopes that the urban safety features of the new Crafter, such as its autonomous emergency braking system, will prevent or minimise the impact of collisions in traffic and help keep its repair and maintenance costs down.
The vans will be available from Europcar’s locations across the UK from September.
